The procedure begins with an initial meeting to get to know the client and to discuss the portrait size, clothing, setting, and where the painting will hang. A second meeting is scheduled for taking photographs, and performing an initial sketch. A preliminary drawing is made in the studio and then presented to the client for approval. Once the painting is complete a meeting is set for final approval and any final details are painted from life.
